i was baptized in 1974. the religion i joined believed that jesus selected the bible students in 1919 to do a separating work.
we had to preach to find the sheep like ones.

I think that many people start feeling out of place after being a jw for some time. It is just not the same religion that they joined anymore.
Truth just does not keep changing.
I was on a study once and my book said the people of Sodom and Gomorrah would be resurrected and my student's book said they wouldn't. Kinda funny.
Quit. Refused to ever talk with the elders. Still have family in so I am not totally free to do as I please.
Wonder sometimes if I will ever just say forget it and quit trying to hide what I really think. I do love my kids though and can't imagine life without them.
Affirms my belief that this is a cult, plain and simple.

They use placentas in a lot of products, but the only one I can remember is cosmetics. I don't think they are in any food products.
When you sign the papers for treatment in the hospital, you give them the right to discard of body parts removed as they see fit.

well, after 4 years of being out of the borg, i decided to take the plunge and i went to "church" with my sister.
it was a wonderful experience, and i will definately be returning.
Glad you found it to be nice, Lady Liberty. I have only tried once to go to church since I left the jws. I went to a UU church and the service was ok. Afterwards, they had coffee and doughnuts. I stayed, but the only one who spoke to me was a young boy about 6.
After about a ten minute conversation, I left and didn't go back.
I was raised and baptized in a church, so I know they are sincere and nothing like the jws say. I may try again some day, but it's hard to do with dub family around and having to conceal it all.

That is gross, but the placenta has been used in many products that we use for years. The hospital actually saves it and sells it by the pound to companies.
I saw a freezer full of placentas waiting to be sold at the hospital, gross too.
When I had my first child, the placenta was by all estimates, the most disturbing thing. No way would I want to eat it or take it home.

Hi Randy, my beliefs are not set in stone at the present. I remember once reading an article in the Wat. that hinted of the concept of grace. It gave me such a peaceful feeling. I tried to find it again, but never did.
The term "undeserved kindness" always made me feel a little dirty. Grace has just the opposite effect.
I think the idea of utopia is what attracts a lot of people to cults, so it could be added to the list. When we try to force change by our own power, the results are disappointing. Unfortunately, it becomes easy to believe that the end result justifies the means taken to reach it.
I didn't know you were a pastor. Are you still? Any particular type?
